Cromwell Announces New Board Members

Cromwell Architects Engineers has added two new members to their Board of Directors: Architect Chris East and Structural Engineer Michael Callahan.

Chris East, AIA, is a graduate of the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas and has been with Cromwell for a total of ten years.  While at Cromwell he has focused on improving the quality of Design, Community Leadership, and diversity within the office; following many of the core values of the office’s founders. Chris is a founding board member of studioMAIN, a collection of architects, contractors, developers and designers who work together to educate and advocate about the importance of critical design thinking when designing our towns and neighborhoods.  Chris is a graduate of Little Rock Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greater Little Rock class 24 in 2009. In 2012 and 2013, Chris led the effort for PopUp Main Street and PopUp 7th Street, which re-imagined and installed shops, bike lanes, and urban street amenities.  Currently Chris is co-leading the Young Professional’s group, Think Big Little Rock, in order to identify solutions that would entice our young and talented to locate and stay in Central Arkansas.Chris was recently named to the 2016 class of Arkansas Business’ 40 Under 40. He was chosen for his many contributions to the local built environment and his dedication to serving Arkansas’ communities.

Mike Callahan, PE, SECB, is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He joined Cromwell in 1997. He now manages the Structural Department. While employed at Cromwell, Mike has also served in the Army Reserves and has achieved the rank of Colonel. Michael is active in several professional engineering groups including acting as a board member and past President of the Structural Engineers Association of Arkansas and the Society of American Military Civil Engineers. Mike is a graduate of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Arkansas Program. He also leads the internal Quality Control Committee. Michael works tirelessly to improve Cromwell’s collaboration and quality to benefit our clients.
