The objective of this project was the design for the repair by replacement of the existing obsolete fire alarm system and devices with a state-of-the-art addressable intelligent fire alarm system with integrated digital audio, voice annunciation, and fire fighter's touch screen interface graphic displays.
The Inouye Building 503 is a four story, 898,377 SF structure constructed in 1999. There is a ground level, level one, two, and three. Between each level there is an interstitial space. The buildings occupied space is 520,411 SF and the interstitial space is 377,966 SF. The facility accommodates the operation of five major research areas to include infectious disease, combat casually care, operational medicine, chemical defense, and biological defense. Additional support spaces such as logistics, cafeteria, administrative offices, auditorium, storage, library, security, and mechanical space are also present. Cromwell provided full design and specifications for the replacement project.
