The Fish Lab facilitates the research and development of agriculture as well as provides valuable educational and diagnostic resources to the surrounding communities. This project expands those resources into the field of aquaculture. This provides a positive impact on the fish farming community that plays an important role in the states economic structure.
The project is an approximately 1,800 SF fish laboratory addition to an existing 7200 SF, agricultural educational and research center, in rural Arkansas. The new addition contains a fish holding & observation room, diagnostic, micro biology and water analysis spaces. Employee support spaces were maintained in the existing facility. Replacement of the roofing membrane on the existing building was provided by the Cooperative Extension as part of the project scope.
Local and surrounding communities have direct access to the facility and its specialists for fish and water diagnostic services.
