Pulaski County Detension Facility and Juvenile Justice Complex
Little Rock, AR

This phased project consists of an 556-bed pre- and post trial facility, a 24-bed juvenile justice complex with courtrooms, and the renovation of a 250-bed jail. The project covered 270,000 SF of new construction and 140,000 SF of remodeled space. This project was a Joint Venture with WD&D, Cromwell, and BTA.

Pulaski County Detension

The facility is designed for direct supervision with decentralized services. A typical housing unit contains 52 beds, day room, its own exercise yard, counseling rooms with visitor booths on the second level; public visitation and inmate traffic are totally separated with visitors corridor on the upper level, inmate travel on the lower level. Meals are served in the housing units. Construction is load bearing masonry with precast concrete floors and roofs. The facility is designed for expansion to 1,600 beds and includes all sidewalks, roads and utilities to allow for expansion.
