The design of this new stadium explicitly adopts the prevailing Georgian style
of campus buildings. It utilizes brick and cast stone dressings in harmony with
the materials used elsewhere on campus; and employs 
massing
gestures and an emphasis on portals in keeping with the Georgian canon. The
project includes seating for 5,000 spectators, concessions, team locker rooms,
and public toilets. The stadium is handicapped accessible and meets ADA requirements.
Athletic offices, team meeting rooms, classrooms, and physical training rooms
are an integral part of the design. Approximately 20,000 SF of the space used
to house these facilities is constructed under the stadium seating.
The contractor was an Eagle Award winner of the Excellence in Construction
Award Program by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas for this
project in 1999.
