Museum Center
Little Rock, Arkansas
This five-story warehouse was originally built in 1926 as a commercial warehouse
for the storage of household goods and other commodities. This renovation converted
the 240,000 SF concrete warehouse building into lease-able spaces around a vaulted/sky
lit central atrium area, and included the installation of two elevators. Zoned
HVAC systems and new plumbing and electrical systems were installed. The Museum
of Discovery (relocating from McArthur Park) occupies over 40,000 SF on the
first floor level, and restaurants and offices lease the remaining space.
Cromwell did tenant finishes for several spaces including a 4,871 SF advertising
office suite with curved glass block wall, oak trim at doors and windows, a
custom ceiling with floating "cloud" forms, and a 3,088 SF office
suite for a creative agency that combined a warehouse feel with exposed ceilings
and brick with contemporary design.
