Winthrop Rockefeller Conference & Discovery Center

Petit Jean Mountain, Arkansas
Cromwell's role as architects and engineers on this highly successful masterplanning effort helped secure a $53 million grant to the University of Arkansas in December of 2004. The masterplan involved the analysis of existing facilities on Petit Jean Mountain abandoned by Winrock International's move to new facilities in Little Rock. Existing office structures were innovatively reconfigured as museum, dining and cooking school facilities. Existing housing will be provided with additional common areas for group activities. New housing will be added to provide adequate space for larger conferences. A highly successful team effort, Cromwell worked with landscape architects, Garvan Gardens staff, the UACDC, hospitality, hotel, and restaurant consultants.
