First, Cromwell's team studied if and how a new 3.0Tesla MRI and two existing relocated 1.5 Tesla MRIs could fit into the Hi-Bay shell space of the Arkansas Children's Hospital new South Wing. This included extensive magnetic and vibration testing, and ground penetrating radar to confirm the location and quantity of rebar. Once determined, full service design, bidding and construction administration services commenced for the new 3T MRI Suite with all support spaces and utilities designed to serve the future 1.5T MRIs. Work includes renovation and finish-out of 4,735 SF of the existing South Wing High Bay Shell space and expanding a second floor mechanical room space by approximately 720 SF to house a new air handler for the suite. Includes extensive coordination with vendors, including the magnetic and radio-frequency shielding.
