The purpose of the work was to update a 1970's home to be more in keeping with current standards regarding size, accessibility, and aesthetics. The design created a new mud room/laundry with closets for mechanical equipment. The two existing bathrooms were combined to create a sinlge larger one to serve guests and bedrooms. The former laundry was converted to much needed pantry space for the kitchen. The kitchen was widened to give adequate clearance between the oven and refrigerator. The garage, not currently authorized in ASP standards, was enclosed and heated and cooled to create a den to increase living space for the family. The addition created a master bedroom suite with closets and bathroom.
