For 130 years, Cromwell has believed in doing the right thing for the environment and for our clients. With the demand for energy efficient buildings on the rise, Cromwell Energy Services has what it takes, along with years of experience, to make your facility meet those needs now and in the future. From Commissioniong Services to Energy Audits, Cromwell Energy Services can provide a wide range of services to fit your needs.
Buildings represent 39% of U.S. primary energy use. Studies have shown that 30% of the energy consumed by these buildings is done so inefficiently or unnecessarily. Here at Cromwell, an emphasis has been placed on reducing those numbers.
With Cromwell’s Energy Services, our staff of seasoned engineers, certified professionals, and LEED AP’s can provide the experience and knowledge necessary to help make your facility more energy efficient. Whether your facility is seeking LEED certification or energy consumption needs improvements, Cromwell’s Energy Services can provide a wide range of services to fit your needs including maximizing the efficiency of your facilities while contributing to the bottom line.
New Building Commissioning
Monitoring Based Commissioning
Measurement and Verification
New Construction Commissioning
New construction commissioning is a quality focused process that ensures a new building is designed, built, operated, and maintained as the owner intends. The Cromwell commissioning process begins during the design phase and continues through construction, into the operation of the building.
Retro-Commissioning is a process of evaluating, testing, and correcting building systems with the overall goals of reducing energy consumption and demand, improving occupant comfort, reducing maintenance costs, and ensuring the building operates as the owner intends. Cromwell begins the Retro-Commissioning process begins with a thorough review of the buildings systems and operation. Problems are then identified and cost effective solutions are provided and implemented by the RCx Team.
Ongoing Commissioning is an extension of the processes established during the New Building Commissioning or Retro-Commissioning project. By periodically re-evaluating and testing a building’s performance, you can be assured that systems are functioning correctly.
Monitoring Based Commissioning
Monitoring certain aspects of the condition of a system allows developing failures to be predicted. This process allows maintenance to be scheduled or other actions to be taken to avoid the consequences of a full failure before such a failure occurs.
Building Envelope Commissioning
Building Envelope Commissioning ensures that the buildings exterior systems are constructed and perform as design intends. Control of air and moisture though the envelope are vital to the life of the building and can result in significant financial benefits.
Energy Audits help identify energy saving opportunities. Our services range from simple walk through audits, to comprehensive ASHRAE Level II and III audits. These services may also be combined with our Retro-Commissioning and LEED Services.
Energy modeling is the process of creating a virtual representation of a building and all of its components, with a strong focus on energy consumption, utility bills, and life cycle costs of various design options related to items such as lighting and HVAC. Energy modeling software is able to combine weather data with user inputs to perform hourly simulations of a building over the course of an entire year. This allows building owners to make informed decisions when evaluating new building designs or when considering a major renovation.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, is one of the most popular green building certification programs used worldwide. Developed by the United States Green Building Council in 2000, LEED is changing the way buildings are designed, built, and operated. Currently, more than 13 billion square feet of built area is certified under the LEED rating system. Cromwell’s staff of experienced Engineers and LEED APs can help building owners navigate the LEED rating systems, ensuring the success of your organization’s sustainability goals.
Building energy benchmarking is the comparison of whole-building energy use relative to a set of similar buildings. This allows building owners to see how well, or how poorly their buildings are performing. This often serves as a first step to determine if additional energy efficiency services will be needed.
By utilizing tools created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, we can compare your buildings against a national database.
Measurement and Verfication
Measurement and Verification, or M&V, is the process of quantifying savings from implementing energy efficiency, water efficiency, or renewable energy projects. The International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol provides guidance on specific procedures that help buyers, sellers, and financiers of energy and water projects to create a successful M&V plan.
Cromwell has software available to help you streamline the commissioning process, track energy usage, monitor real time performance, and simulate your buildings. Contact us to determine if an energy management software solution is right for you.
