Cromwell prepared design documents for the renovation of Building D-3745 on Fort Bragg to meet the needs of two Company Operations Facility Headquarters. The office building was originally built in 1969 and required renovation of the 12,400 SF interior, as well as repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection issues. Renovated spaces included standalone offices, conference rooms, training room, latrines, secure storage, arms vault and TOC locker areas.
The design also expanded the existing building footprint approximately 4,000 SF. This area includes arms vaults and company storage.
Exterior improvements were also made including a new drive entrance, a canopy over a portion of the hardstand, new pavement for tactical vehicle and container parking, and accessible routes from the building to the street-side sidewalks to make the building handicap accessible. Although the facility was not designed for LEED certification, energy efficient systems and environmentally friendly materials were utilized wherever possible.
