Fort Bragg Company Operations Facility Headquarters

The project addressed the remodeling of Building D-3745 to modernize the office building from a five Company Operations Headquarters (COF) building into a two Company Operations Headquarters building that met current army standards, current codes, DPW requirements, and mission capabilities. The existing building did not meet current Army Standards for a COF and was in need of a repair due to use and age. The existing 12,108 SF one story structure was built in 1950’s as a warehouse with 5 individual bays. Over the course of the life of the building it was remodeled into a five COF building. The facility is an on-grade concrete floor slab with concrete block walls, brick façade, and a TPO roof system that is supported by metal roof joists. The remodel impacted all 5 bays and the building exterior. Two additions were constructed to this building adding 4,000 SF to the building.
The Scope of Work for the project included the design of standalone offices, conference rooms, training room, break area, storage, secure storage, TA-50 locker room, and an arms vault. Demolition consisted of the existing flooring, walls, ceiling, non-conforming arms vaults, fire protection, fire alarm, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, electrical, and communications. New work consisted of installing new masonry and EFIS on the exterior walls to be contextual with the surrounding buildings.  Concrete floor was patched and new floors, walls, doors, ceilings, and finishes were installed. A new architectural roof was installed over a new metal retro-roof system along with a new standalone canopy over a hardstand. New fire suppression, new fire alarm, mass notification will be installed. A new core area was designed that included new latrines, showers, lockers, janitorial, vending, recycle, mechanical/electrical, and communication rooms. New HVAC was installed throughout the office along with new lighting, electrical, and data layouts. A new concrete parking area was built 80’ deep along the length of the back of the building for tactical vehicles and conex storage. ADA access to the front of the building included a new sidewalk which allowed access to the parking lot across the Meredet Road. A new fenced in dumpster area was built. New utility services were installed including new water lines for the fire main, domestic water, natural gas, and upgraded electrical services for the facility.
