Manila, Arkansas is located in the northeast part of the state which is experiencing strong economic growth. The traditional agricultural economy of the region is becoming increasingly high tech, and the area is also seeing major growth in the manufacturing sector. In recognition of these trends, the Manila community is planning for a new high school that has a strong orientation toward technology and research. This new high school is being designed for approximately 680 students in grades 9 through 12. The primary elements of the facility include a library, a gymnasium with lockers, a fine arts complex and auditorium, a dining hall and kitchen, and classrooms including labs and vocational spaces. This school is currently in the planning stages with a projected completion date in 2017.
