Stone County Medical Center

This project is to replace the portion of the hospital that was destroyed by a tornado in early 2008. The new facility entails 25 private patient rooms with all ancillary support spaces on the second floor. The first floor houses imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, dining, clinical spaces and the Emergency Department with Administration. The Imaging Department will house x-ray rooms, CT scans, mammography and ultrasound, and expansion spaces for bone density and MRI. All equipment will be new and digital.

The ER department will house two trauma bays, four treatment rooms, nurses station and decontamination room. To better serve the visitors and employees, a dining area is located against an exterior wall with a window wall looking out onto landscaped areas. The main entrance is located on the south side to be very visible from the highway. The entrance has an 18’ deep cantilevered translucent panel canopy over the drop off area.
