We don't just build buildings.
We build relationships.
In 1891, Engineer Fred J.H. Rickon joined Charles L. Thompson to form one of the first known architecture and engineering partnerships. Since then, we have been known for seamless integration and collaboration of building services disciplines, offering a unique set of skills that allow us to be your partner throughout the entire life cycle of your facility. Having all architectural and engineering disciplines in-house has proven beneficial to clients because projects can be closely coordinated and considered as a whole.
Our work often begins with assisting clients in identifying the most appropriate site for a new project. Through site assessments, property condition assessments, masterplanning, and feasibility studies, our in-house engineering and facilities teams identify the risks and potential of specific sites.
A successful facility is much more than good architectural design. Success is based on the resolution of complex issues, through the application of the widest range of technical and aesthetic skills. Our highly collaborative process leverages the talents of our architects, engineers, facility staff, owners, and end users. We employ proven design processes, including value engineering and life cycle analysis, to ensure that we deliver a custom solution that exceeds your building needs.
With a long-tenured team controlling quality, schedule, and cost in-house, Cromwell is able to ensure that designs can be executed under the tightest cost constraints. This interdisciplinary approach not only yields faster, better-coordinated documents, but also fewer surprises during the permitting and construction phase of the project.
Prompt and reliable field oversight during construction is crucial to the success of any project. Without the presence of sound construction administration practices, even the best set of documents may fail to produce an excellent product. Cromwell's construction services are balanced between designers and construction professionals, to ensure the project is managed to exceed client expectations — from design to occupancy and beyond.
As buildings become more complex, building owners are losing money because their buildings are not being managed properly. Our technical team of design engineers, energy engineers, and facility staff will work to assess and operate your facility to reduce operating costs through preventative maintenance, system optimization, and proper long-range planning. Services include: energy audits, retro-commissioning, maintenance planning, and capital and operating budget forecasting.
Cromwell Energy Services includes a group of seasoned engineers, certified professionals, and LEED-accredited professionals who provide the experience and knowledge necessary to make your facility more energy efficient. From commissioning to energy audits and life-cycle cost analysis, Cromwell Energy Services provides a wide range of services to fit your needs.
Similar to the land acquisition phase, Cromwell's involvement in repurpose/disposal is to assist clients in determining if an existing building can be repurposed or updated to suit a new or evolving program, or if a new building or site is necessary. In this phase, our technical team provides property condition assessments, energy audits, programming, and feasability studies to determine the best course of action.
We believe in a rigorous and disciplined approach to project management and delivery, adhering to submittal schedules and budgets while still achieving excellence in design.
Regular team meetings and weekly client meetings help identify potential issues long before construction begins, ensuring an accurate and realistic schedule.
Detailed estimates and conservative materials selections have resulted in an excellent history of providing projects that are within or below our estimated cost.
A single Quality Control Checklist throughout all phases of the project not only improves the quality of the design documents, but also reduces the number of errors and time required for the technical review.
With a depth of staff to produce the largest projects and flexibility to perform on the smallest tasks, our approach to projects of varying sizes may differ, but our attention to detail and level of service remains the same.
